Requesting rights
Swishy supports the industry-standard rights request flow: a comment with a clear ask, a hashtag or landing page for the creator to confirm, and automatic tracking.
The flow
Section titled “The flow”- Pick the content. In the content library, open a post and click Request rights.
- Swishy generates a comment from your template. It includes:
- A one-line ask (“Hey! Loved this — can we use it on our site?”)
- A link to your consent landing page with full terms.
- A confirmation option: reply with an approval hashtag (e.g.
#yesbrandname) or click Accept on the landing page.
- Swishy posts the comment — automatically if the creator @mentioned you (Instagram allows this), or with a one-click copy flow if they didn’t (Instagram restricts commenting on third-party posts).
- Swishy watches for the response — webhooks for hashtag replies on your posts, polling for replies on third-party posts, and instant detection for landing page clicks.
- On approval, the content’s consent state flips to
approvedand it becomes eligible for publishing.
Templates
Section titled “Templates”Customize your request template in Settings → Consent → Templates. You can have multiple templates (e.g. short-form, long-form, campaign-specific) and multiple languages for future localization.
A good template:
- Compliments the creator’s content.
- States exactly what you want to use it for.
- Links to the full terms (not just a hashtag).
- Gives a clear path to decline or ask questions.
Consent landing page
Section titled “Consent landing page”The landing page is the strongest consent path. When a creator clicks the link in your comment, they see:
- A preview of the exact content you’re requesting rights to.
- How you’ll use it (product pages, AI seller, marketing).
- Your full license terms.
- An Accept / Decline choice.
Approval here is logged with timestamp, IP, user agent, and the terms version shown — which is what regulators will look for if ever questioned.
Reminders and expiry
Section titled “Reminders and expiry”- Reminders: if there’s no response after N days (configurable, default 5), Swishy posts a gentle follow-up — once.
- Expiry: if there’s still no response after M days (default 14), the request auto-expires. You can re-request later.
What if the creator replies outside the system?
Section titled “What if the creator replies outside the system?”If a creator DMs you “yes, go ahead” instead of using the hashtag or landing page, you can manually override the consent state in the admin. Swishy logs the manual override with your user ID so the audit trail stays intact — but the standard flows give you stronger legal standing.
